Costa Rican Food: Things to know
Rice and beans are a staple of Costa Rican food and an amazing part of traditional meals, known as Casados. Although there are different theories on the name, casado means married man, and it is commonly agreed upon that rice and beans are a perfect marriage and accompaniment to fruits, vegetables, meats, and seafood.
Beef, pork, and chicken are eaten throughout the country and the seafood is excellent. Being on the coast, you can find delicious fish, octopus, and other fantastic seafood.
Never pass up a fried or sweet plantain. They are amazing.
One of the best ways to experience a culture is through it’s food and Costa Rica is no different. Every dish at Pura Vida Show will provide a unique and mouthwatering experience that will bring you closer to the people and the land.
There are a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables that are found in abundance. Tomatoes, plantains, potatoes, cassava, mangoes, pineapples, papaya, coconut, avocado, and more are sure to please a variety of palates.
